02/10/18 Tutorial intro & Video Mandala Masterclass

Notes from the tutorial intro:

Edit my research, as in don't read so much and pick out RELEVANT info. If it all seems relevant put a time limit on it. This year is short. I need to also work on my time management. I want to make a plan for each project and to not give myself too much work within unrealistic time parameters. I will draw up time plans for each thing and stick to it.

Rick also brought home the need for productivity and losing my self-consciousness. The more I the less I will worry about others perceptions on my work or myself.

Reflection

In my following group crit I faked a lot of confidence and Rick told me it was an improvement. I felt much better, I tried to use the crit to ask people in the class for practical advice regarding my work.
I did not follow through with the time limits and realistic parameters, I did what I always do and left it until the last minute with a huge workload.
After talks from Artists like Chris Evans I realise that nervousness and last minute-ness is perfectly normal activities for artists.

Video Mandala masterclass:

Loved this lesson. It made me want to do more which was surprising to me as it isn't the kind of thing I thought I'd be interested in. I found the software quite challenging but do-able. I would like to choose this option in January. I also thought that this would be an excellent skill to possess going forward within the creative industry. I plan to visit the Macs more often and follow my tutors advice and not worry about opinions or if I produce finished products.

My video wasn't finished but I did play with layering. Also green screen effects without using green screen. I enjoyed this because it has a lot of small detail that you can get lost in. If the work doesn't seem smooth enough etc you can stretch time and add extra effects or clips. I want to learn more.
