11/10/18 HOA The 80's, social change and the characteristics of of postmodernism

The lecture was great. I feel by talking about politics, social issues, music, design etc he maps out a world around the subject he's teaching us about. The context really helps and it makes me feel better for finding Art history a spiral rather than a straight line. I've always struggled to write about Art History in a linear way, there are a million hands in everything I experience. There are a million ways to examine and be critical about a piece of work. This can sometimes undermine it; if everything can mean a multitude of things I feel they cancel each other out so that there are no reasons.
